Battlestar Galactica: Someone to Watch Over Me… “Play it Again, Slut.“
About 35 minutes into Someone to Watch Over Me I was mentally preparing to write a lukewarm review of a wishy-washy formulaic soap opera. I was actually begrudgingly looking forward being able to blog this episode without acting like every other drooling Galactica fanboy talking about how great it was. Well, shit. After the first 45 minutes, all hell broke loose and brought my complacent ass to the edge of my chair almost screaming at my TV. Things just got real ugly, real damn fast.

Five Reasons Watchmen Will Rock/Suck, Part III
Okay, so I’ve listed reasons why the upcoming Watchmen adaptation could either rock or suck. But what do I think? What’s my prediction? On which side of the rock/suck line will the movie fall? Will it be a worthy rendering or a colossal stinkburger? So, with the understanding that I haven’t seen the film, have no insider knowledge or access to any special information, I gaze into the future and speculate with four little words:

Lost: The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham
If you’re the type of person that’s likely to grow tired of wondering who the hell you’re supposed to trust anymore in Lost you’re probably not too thrilled with The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham, this week’s installment in the ongoing paranormal soap opera. I think conventional wisdom would lead us the conclusion that both Ben Linus and Charles Widmore are simply right bastards.

Monday Mania on Tuesday - Feb 24th, 2009 - McDouche, Combine, Warner, Free Agents
What is going on in the world? There are some pretty high class free agents that are on the market as of today and will be solid contributors if not key players for other teams next year. That little combine thing has also been going on and there are definitely some notables. Of course there are other things like what’s going on with Kurt Warner, what is matter with the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings. Oh, let’s not forget that D. McNabb needs to realize he’s part of the problem in Philadelphia and not the solution.

Got Milk? Got Best Actor? Got Best Original Screenplay?
Better late than never I finally caught up with Milk just prior to the Oscars. While the film is an incredible piece of work, it’s really the leading performance that is the pivot point for the film. Sean Penn is a chameleon of an actor. Having seen him in a multitude of roles dating all the way back to Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982, it’s my biggest compliment to say that I have no idea who Sean Penn is when he steps outside a film frame.

Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock. The Bitch is Back.
I’m starting to get a tremendous sense of finality with each passing episode of Galactica. One of the positive things about what’s transpiring now is that we know that there is a resolution coming. It may not be a resolution we like, it may be painful, but with the end in sight and predetermined, we know that they can’t spring anything on us and let it slide any more. And in case you missed it, this week’s episode, Deadlock, gave us the birth of the second Human/Cylon child in the form of the Galactica itself now being rebuilt with organic Cylon goo.

Defending their Crown: Lions Setting to Repeat!
What a year it was with some huge records being broken. In exceptional fashion, the Steelers completed their Super Bowl trip with being the first franchise to have 6 of the prized Lombardi trophies. There was another team that set another record that is almost equally as impressive. Yes, it’s the Detroit Lions that I’m talking about. Detroit finished its year 0-16 and became the first and only franchise to lose all 16 games in a season. It was hard work but Matt Millen, the owner, coaches, and players all worked very hard for about 5 years to reach this level of infamy. New year, new attitude! Well, Detroit is poised to make another run at 0-16 with their list of stupid off-season moves.
