Heroes: Into Asylum - Just When We Almost Forgot What Good “Heroes” Was Like…

heroesplatelogoI’m going to commit a rare crime today, so I’ll cut to the chase immediately. I unashamedly admit that I thoroughly enjoyed Into Asylum and it didn’t take much reflection for me to realize that I had watched the best episode of Heroes by since the first season. I even hesitate to call it a fluke since it really does seem that the trend has been up recently. Into Asylum hopefully plants a seed for what could make this show successful again.

Monday Mania - Vick +$10 mill?; Ward Rule; 18 Games?; More…

banner4

I really thought this was going to be a boring week in the NFL.  Everyone and their mother seemed a lot more concerned about the man-child, Blake Griffith, taking on UNC.  Live and learn because while it might not have been the most exciting week of the NFL there are still some crazy topics out there and this week I really do mean crazy!  Yeah, we’ll get to the NCAA tourney and how well/poorly I’m doing but this weeks news is about as elegant as smashing butterflies with a sledge hammer if I’m being honest.

Monsters vs. Aliens Has Just Enough Charm

mvaonesheetAudiences have every right to be apprehensive every time Dreamworks or any other studio besides Pixar puts out a Computer Animated Film these days. It’s really a hit and miss proposition with the hits really not in the same league as even the least popular of the Pixar catalog. In this respect it’s a completely unfair methodology to hold any animated film up to comaparison to something in a class of a Toy Story. So it should be taken with a grain of salt when I assess Monsters vs. Aliens by saying that “it’s no Toy Story.” But it is a pretty fun ride.

LOST: He’s Our You- The Time Paradox Theories of Einstein, Hawking, Doc Brown and Sayid Jarrah?

Those who have this overwhelming urge to shoot a 12-year old boy had the chance to live vicariously through Naveen Andrews Wednesday night. Speaking from a strictly personal viewpoint I rarely have the urge to pump bullets into a 12-year old with the small but notable exception of my own son. However for the sake of my family and personal freedom I generally resist. In this case however, finding out how this shooting of a minor will turn out should be quite a ride.

Summer is fast approaching and it’s time to get into shape. That’s right, I’m just here to remind everyone that you should start sooner rather than later to get ready for the warmer months. No, I’m not talking about how your lard ass looks in a Manzini but rather the temps on your CPU. Hey, if you’re looking for health tips try 1-800-597-Jenny but if you’re in need of a serious health update for your socket 754/939/940/AM2 or LGA775 CPU keep reading.

Heroes Gets an “Oh Snap!” for Cold Snap

Cold Snap is Bryan Fuller’s first full writing credit since his return to Heroes this season. He’s on the rebound since his show Pushing Daisies was put six feet under. Fuller’s influence was apparent with the multitude of Star Trek references. However, fans hoping for an overnight cure for bad and mediocre Heroes for the last two years are a little overly optimistic. Fortunately, the show has been slowly showing some signs of life more recently and while Fuller’s return is welcome I’m certainly not hanging the hopes of the show on one man. I do feel that in the course of the show, Fuller has demonstrated that he understands many of the elements that made the show so succesful early in it’s run, perhaps even more so than creator Tim Kring himself.

Monday Mania - “December Dash?,” More Cutler, Detroit Lions Draft, and Bigfoot?

I can’t deny it and neither can any of the football world but reporting on the NFL is actually a little slow right now.  This is about the only time of year, that I can think of, where the NFL is not the most reported item in all of sports.  March Madness is way outpacing football and rightfully so.  Who doesn’t fill out a bracket?  I mean, at least just one!  This is really the first year I’ve been much more conscious of my picks but I have participated since elementary school off and on with generally little success but a lot of fun.  I, also, sat down with a friend yesterday and actually watched basketball.  All of this has just added another reminder that the NCAA has it all wrong when it comes to football.  I will get to that along with my take on Cutler and what the Lions should be thinking in the draft.

Battlestar Galactica: Daybreak Part 2. What the Frak? All This Time It Was Just “Goddidit!”

I’ve been chewing all weekend on Daybreak Part 2 and Battlestar Galactica in general as an artistic endeavor. While some of you may have watched me mercilessly gush praise over the program I have to admit that while the series finale left me highly entertained and emotionally heartbroken I did have some disappointment with the direction they took it. For a program that rooted itself so deeply in the science half of “science fiction” I was genuinely perplexed and let down by the amount of hocus pocus spiritualism in the final half of the two hour conclusion.

Lost: Congratulations Namaste Class of 1977!

I love happy reunions. We’ve been working all season for this moment and when we finally get there everybody hugs, tears well up, and for a brief moment everything was wine and roses. Of course, panic ensues and it seems like Sawyer is going above and beyond to make things smooth and safe for the second round plane crash survivors. Yes, there’s panic and concern but everyone’s on the same side now, right?

Cutler, Travis Henry, Stallworth, Galloway, Mock Drafts, Golf, March Madness - SIGN UP

Bracketology is all the rage today with the bubble teams already being burst and bets starting to be thrown down. I’m really not a basketball guy but anyone that is interested in sports will know you just HAVE to fill out a bracket. We are going to make it easy for everyone this year with the creation of our first annual Yahoo! March Madness bracket. To sign up you just need to have a Yahoo! account and register for our bracket. If you are familiar with the system on Yahoo our group ID is 113087 and the password is deviantknowledge09 or just check out the sticky in our forum over at the March Madness Offical Thread.

With that out of the way, today will feature thoughts on where Cutler might end up, why people should shut it for now on Donte Stallworth’s car vs Pedestrian, updated mock drafts, and one of Golf’s failures.
