Battlestar Galactica: Sometimes a Great Notion

It’s an amazing thing how a show can change direction so suddenly so many times over several years and still maintain its momentum. In the case of Battlestar Galactica we once again leave a 60 minute block of time in a completely different place than we started it. Where we left the mid-season finale asking ourselves “now what” with Sometimes a Great Notion we’re getting a clear picture that this show has no intention to “wind down” quietly. They start to this string of final episodes with one dizzying revelation after another.

Frakkin’ Cylons: Galactica Face of the Enemy Review

The Geek-o-meter levels are rising for Battlestar Galactica fans as we approach the beginning of the end for one of the best shows on television for the last four years. Unlike the cheap and sleazy webisode series of some shows like Heroes, the 10-part Galactica appetizer Face of the Enemy has concluded and displayed all the quality and thoughtfulness of a full regular season episode.

5 DVD Gift Ideas for Sci-Fi Geeks

I was not going to do a “buy this” article this year and it may even be very very late but I thought I’d make a minimal list of some great gift ideas.  

1. Star Wars Prequel Trilogy and Star Wars Trilogy - $35/piece 
At $35 a piece these are a pretty good buy.  Anyone who is a real Star Wars fan is going to want all of the movies even if they don’t like them.

Holy Frak, Galactica’s Back!

The 10 part Battlestar Galactica web series The Face of the Enemy premiered today with part 1. One thing about Galactica, it’s easy to lose the taste once you get it too far behind you, but once the first minute or so graces the screen you can feel the love flowing back.

Galactica: Revelations - Mid-Season Finale

If your like me and I assume most Battlestar fans, you are sitting in stunned silence right now. Unlike season 3, Season 4 seems to be progressing at breakneck speed toward the conclusion of the saga.
