Monday Mania - April 13th, 2009 - Donte Whitner, Bucs new QB, Marshawn Lynch, James Harrison

This article is going to be a little shorter than usual and will have a follow up probably Friday to get ready for the draft this weekend. That’s right, it’s taken forever but the draft will be this weekend. Today’s article, however, will be pointing out the Buc’s new QB, a couple (more) idiots that play in the NFL, and a new contract for James Harrison. Shall we?

Another Monday another column. Huge turn around this week in football with two teams that have made some really poor decisions the last couple of years making really good ones. Though, for each of the teams making good decisions there are always others doing stupid things. That’s just how the cookie crumbles as the blue furry monster used to say. Of course, I have to get in my take onPlaxico Burress’s fall from grace. What can I say, I just can’t understand how some people can be so darn stupid.

Cutler, Travis Henry, Stallworth, Galloway, Mock Drafts, Golf, March Madness - SIGN UP
Bracketology is all the rage today with the bubble teams already being burst and bets starting to be thrown down. I’m really not a basketball guy but anyone that is interested in sports will know you just HAVE to fill out a bracket. We are going to make it easy for everyone this year with the creation of our first annual Yahoo! March Madness bracket. To sign up you just need to have a Yahoo! account and register for our bracket. If you are familiar with the system on Yahoo our group ID is 113087 and the password is deviantknowledge09 or just check out the sticky in our forum over at the March Madness Offical Thread.
With that out of the way, today will feature thoughts on where Cutler might end up, why people should shut it for now on Donte Stallworth’s car vs Pedestrian, updated mock drafts, and one of Golf’s failures.

Monday Mania - March 9th, 2009 - Bills get T-Owned; Pats at it Again; Sign these guys!
Another week, another big move in free agency. It’s this time of year, the off-season, that it’s obvious why the NFL is such a huge draw; the game never stops! Without a single football game being played fans all over the league are cheering and booing with all the things that “their” teams are doing. The addition or subtraction of just one player can cause a huge stir and even drive ticket sales. This week it’s the Buffalo Bills making the waves…

T-Owned
Turn out the lights, the party’s over. The party that was TO being in Dallas, that is. As of this morning the Cowboys have cut Terrell Owens and are moving on with their lives. Ownership and coaches must have felt that TO had become too much of a distraction to deal with. The neat part about all this is both sides, Jerry Jones and TO, got T-Owned in the end. It’s a good bit of a laughing matter, really. What does this mean for the Cowboys as they move forward? Where might Owens end up? Read on for the q0wnage.

Monday Mania - March 2nd, 2009 - Free Agency - The Good, the Bad, and the Stupid
It’s been a week full of surprises and a lot of stupidity as well. One team, the Redskins, are renowned for being dumb and they’ve pretty much kept on track, along with some others. Something I found interesting about this season more than others is a lot of “older” veterans getting resigned or picked up very quickly.

Monday Mania on Tuesday - Feb 24th, 2009 - McDouche, Combine, Warner, Free Agents
What is going on in the world? There are some pretty high class free agents that are on the market as of today and will be solid contributors if not key players for other teams next year. That little combine thing has also been going on and there are definitely some notables. Of course there are other things like what’s going on with Kurt Warner, what is matter with the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings. Oh, let’s not forget that D. McNabb needs to realize he’s part of the problem in Philadelphia and not the solution.

Defending their Crown: Lions Setting to Repeat!
What a year it was with some huge records being broken. In exceptional fashion, the Steelers completed their Super Bowl trip with being the first franchise to have 6 of the prized Lombardi trophies. There was another team that set another record that is almost equally as impressive. Yes, it’s the Detroit Lions that I’m talking about. Detroit finished its year 0-16 and became the first and only franchise to lose all 16 games in a season. It was hard work but Matt Millen, the owner, coaches, and players all worked very hard for about 5 years to reach this level of infamy. New year, new attitude! Well, Detroit is poised to make another run at 0-16 with their list of stupid off-season moves.

Monday Mania - SuperBowl Extended Edition
No matter how you slice or dice it Super Bowl 43 was a full 60 minutes of hard fought athletic competition. The Steelers came into the game after finishing the toughest schedule in football 12-4 and the Cardinals had one of the weakest schedules yet finished 9-7. This pairing was very unlikely and many experts predicted a shalacking of those Red Birds from Arizona though I’d say ‘those‘ experts probably aren’t very good at their jobs. If you are a Jim Rome listener you know when I say the Jungle Karma was even and the playing field was neutral. Super Bowl 43, while somewhat sloppy, was an excellent show.

It’s the Super Bowl! Run!!
I’m not a sports guy. Not even a little. Don’t play ‘em, don’t watch ‘em, have no idea who the vast majority of the players are, none of the coaches, and am often confused about from what city a particular team hails. (It’s the Albuquerque Yankees, right?) So maybe this is just me, but I don’t see what the big damn deal is about the Super Bowl.
