Epic Games, Please Fix Gears of War 2!

I consider the original Gears of War to be hands down the best console shooter ever made. The campaign was tight and fun if not a bit too short, but the online play had me pushing the nightly online gaming addiction into hours I had never expected giving the game a long life span for me. Let me summarize my online experience with Gears of War 2 for the first 10 days:

“Remote Parties restarted the matchmaking process”
…5….4…3…2…1
“Remote Parties restarted the matchmaking process”
Rinse, repeat.

World of Goo: A Blast of Fun for Wii

I’ve made two game purchases this weekend and I’m actually surprised by the one that’s gotten more hours. While I do plan to get to a Gears of War 2 review later on –especially after standing in the rain Thursday night for it— I want to reflect on an unexpected new game that I picked up for Wii called World of Goo, that’s actually been around for a while but finally makes its way to a console.

Rollin’ Here and Now: Monopoly Review

Monopoly is an all time great past time here in America and so are cell phones. Why not merge the two? Sounds pretty genius to me. Well, it might not have turned out genius but it certainly makes taking a crap a lot better.

If you have not been born yet you might not know what Monopoly is. If that should happen to be you please just run away and go back to your hole. For the rest of you, Monopoly is a game that might ring out “OMG WHEELBARROW!,” Park Place and Board Walk, or Free Parking, baby. It’s a long celebrated game that is available in just about any “edition” imaginable. The transition to the mobile (cell phone) platform is well done.

Unreal Tournament 3: XBOX 360

Unreal Tournament 3 blasts its way to the 360 in another attempt to bring the first person shooter fans from the PC gaming world over to the dark side of console gaming. Should you consider it or is your $60 better spent on a couple of bottles of top shelf tequila?
