NFL Divisional Playoff Picks; Updated Printable Bracket!

Round 1 is long gone along with any respect I had for myself to accurately pick the outcome of a football game. 1-4 is how I finished my first round though in my own defense I think most of the “experts” went 2-2. On the flip side of that, I am usually ripping on how terrible most of those “experts” are so this is quite the little conundrum. Who cares, I’m still the frackin’ man! Here comes the NFL Divisional Playoffs in Round 2.

Don’t forget to get your updated printable bracket at the end of this column!

NFL Playoffs RD 1, Day 2 Wrap Up - Ravens beat Dolphins; Eagles Soar On

Round 1 of the NFL playoffs concluded today with results that most people were expecting. The games were at least worth watching as the playoffs almost always are. Could Chad “only 7 INT’s on the season” Pennington get it done against the Ravens ridiculously good defense and could the NFL’s leading rusher, Adrian Peterson, move the ball against the smug Eagles D.

Ravens - 27 Dolphins - 9

It was the Dolphins to get the first turnover off a LeRon McClain fumble which looked like nothing more than a love tap. Unfortunately for the Dolphins they tried to love tap it in from the goal line and got stuffed resulting in a field goal. Baltimore matched that field goal with one of their own and then proceeded to take the game over.

NFL Playoffs RD1, Day 1 Wrap-Up; Cardinals top Falcons, Colts fall to Chargers

Day 1 of the NFL Playoffs, Wars, Finals, and Road to the Big Show has ended in spectacular fashion. One thing that was not a surprised are which players stepped up to win the game for their respective team. Phillip Rivers, Darren Sproles, Kurt Warner, and Larry Fitzgerald all pushed their teams over the top along with great play from the Chargers and Cardinals Defenses. I, however, am starting off this playoff season 0-2 on my picks but I can’t say that I am totally surprised.

NFL Network Secretly Hosted by Muppets!

As I sat and watched the NFL Network this past Sunday it was like I was seeing things for the very first time. I was in awe of who was actually hosting the shows. The broadcasters are not always the most interesting bunch but I suddenly realized they were vastly more intriguing than any other sports network. They were all Muppets!!! I have proof…

Deion Sanders –> Dr. Teeth
This one is plainly obvious. “Neon Deion” did not just slowly disappear become “Prime Time.”  During the transition Sanders obviously was developing his Muppet-self as Dr. Teeth.

Buffalo Bills - Raising Idiocy to Lunacy

Marshawn Lynch has come on strong this year after his off-season “mis-hap” with a stolen, not stolen, SUV that fortunately fell way short of the “glove” story a former Bills RB is hopefully regretting.  On a team that has been fairly weak offensively Lynch is averaging an excellent 4.2 a carry and is over 1000 yards on the season.  This past Sunday he managed to totally out due himself with an absolutely staggering 6.0+ yards a carry on 21 touches and totaling 127 yards on the ground.  When you add-in receiving yards, Lynch was actually responsible for 46% of the total net yards the Bills had as a team.  So, why in the frackin’ Hell do the Bills throw the ball on 2nd and 5 with a tick over 2 minutes to go and the lead?

Super Colts - My AFC Super Bowl Pick

It’s almost here, playoff time.  The time of the mystical frozen tundra.  The time of “WIDE RIGHT!”  The time that sets teams apart and I think it will, once again, be Manning’s time.  The Colts are getting on a roll at just the right time.

Indy has 3 games left this season and should end up in a real nice spot for the playoffs.  Lions, Jags, Titans are how Manning will be finishing the year up. The Titans have already won the division but the Colts will easily earn a playoff spot and that’s all they will need.

Losing on Idiocy - Cowboys 13 - Steelers 20

Cold, hot, wet, dry, and yet all the same in this matchup. When the Cowboys and the Steelers face off it is always a battle no matter the conditions.  This past Sunday was no different with both teams laying hits all over the field, fights and scuffles were plentiful, and the scoring was minimal.  It is too bad that the team that lost was merely the team that did more stupid things.  The Cowboys need to raise their on field IQ by a lot if they want to make the playoffs.

3 Fantasy Football Fixes

It goes without saying that Fantasy Football has spread faster in America than Pamela Anderson’s legs at a trailer park filled with white trash rockers. However, there are some aspects about it that need to be changed. Here are three main reasons your Fantasy Football League sucks and how you can fix it.
