The Guild: Comedic Web Series for Recovering Guilders and Active Addicts
I have recently started playing World of Warcraft which can and will be another column but it turned my head to some videos I have ignored for far too long; The Guild! If I get into a game or anything else and really start to enjoy it I find myself seeking out as much as I can in related material. It just so happens that The Guild was one of the featured listings on the Xbox Live Video Marketplace or I probably would have missed it. Maybe non-gamers or even non-MMORPGer’s might not really care for some of The Guild but I think it warrants a look.

Be the Ball, Danny…For Only 200 Microsoft Points!
For whatever reason, I decided that I needed a good old fashioned golf game for my XBOX 360. I was harkening back to the good old days of playing Links on my MAC back in the 90s. Golf video games are important to me, a man who has played real golf once in his life and shot a respectable 85…on the front 9. After about a week of playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour I was somewhat shocked by what Microsoft was offering me as a player through XBOX live.

Keeping up with the Keflings: XBLA Review
A Kingdom for Keflings is one of the first games to utilize the new Avatars on Xbox Live and makes “you” a playable character, er, Giant. This is easily a game that could be overlooked and forgotten or found and obsessed over. Take your pick. Anyone who liked Animal Crossing or the first Sim City will definitely get into Keflings.
What can I say, I got suckered into Keflings after playing the trial to the point I had to pay. I didn’t mind since I had 2200 MS Points and Keflings was only 800. It is a quick and small download. What is it? If you imagine Warcraft 2 without the fighting then you pretty much have A Kingdom for Keflings.

Gears of War 2 Online Multiplayer: Just Plain Broken?
I’m following up my initial Gears of War 2 review to cover some things that have come into focus as glaring issues that hopefully can be addressed by Epic Games. While there are many criticisms from GOW fans right now of certain aspects of the game play mechanics themselves, most of those are issues of taste and preference. Instead, I think the issues that are killing this game for me and many players is the entire online multiplayer system. Right now, my perspective is that it is a failure of epic proportions — no pun intended. Is it too broken to fix?

Focus!
I wasn’t that interested in the launch of the new Xbox 360 interface. I didn’t care about their new Mii-wannabe Avatars, the ripped-off-from-iTunes “coverflow” navigation, the pointless party system, any of it. Seemed like just another example of Microsoft copying someone else’s success and calling it innovation. And then I heard about streaming Netflix movies and changed my tune rather quickly.

Epic Games, Please Fix Gears of War 2!
I consider the original Gears of War to be hands down the best console shooter ever made. The campaign was tight and fun if not a bit too short, but the online play had me pushing the nightly online gaming addiction into hours I had never expected giving the game a long life span for me. Let me summarize my online experience with Gears of War 2 for the first 10 days:
“Remote Parties restarted the matchmaking process”
…5….4…3…2…1
“Remote Parties restarted the matchmaking process”
Rinse, repeat.

The New Xbox Wiiperience
On November 19th, 2008 your Xbox Live Experience is going to get a Wii better. Microsoft will be pushing out an Xbox Live update that is going to make a lot of people happy and possibly some people a Wii bit bitter…Okay, that might be one too many Wii knocks already but no one is hiding it, not even Microsoft so let’s just enjoy talking about the giant pink elephant sitting in your living room.
The real question though?
Why you should be excited about this update. Let me tell you…
